Our only rest day today.
The day was filled with some essential tasks – laundry, bike maintenance and lots of food seemed high on most peoples agendas. Interviews with a local newspaper journalist also took place. Contacting family and friends was also high on everyone’s agendas. Family members also made the long journey to Lyon with Gary’s wife and daughter joining us for the day and a visit for Denise and Jim from their daughter who made a detour to Lyon before flying onto Vancouver. A complete surprise for Denise that Jim had been helping to plan.
There was time for some sightseeing for those who had the energy but for some of us, it was simply a necessary and very welcome day of rest and recovery before many more days in the saddle.
