We have done it!

A beautiful, slightly undulating 80km today. Whipped by the wind at times but largely calm, comfortable and easily within our reach today.

The mood was mixed. Excitement that we had nearly completed our challenge and yet a sadness that this experience was drawing to a close. Life affirming and life changing were phrases I’d heard throughout the day. By the time we had reached our destination, many of us were briefly glad we had finished but this emotion was quickly subsumed by one of sadness that the team was soon going to be going their separate ways.

There were many tears as we congratulated each other on our respective achievements, each understanding, without the need to explain, the effort and the commitment that each of us had put into doing this challenge.
