Week One Impressions
19th – 28th May
Travelling with bikes in cardboard boxes is “fun”.
Portland Oregon is an interesting city – juxtaposition of wealth and homelessness, some lovely eatery areas and sports facilities and a stunning Japanese garden.
Oregon state from Portland all the way to The Dalles has some of the best scenic bike trails I have ever seen and the multiple waterfalls are all a must-see.
The Washington side of the Columbia river is mostly just Highway 14 mile after mile.
Trains are crazy long, pulled/pushed by multiple engines.
When it’s hot it’s REALLY hot and stays hot a long way into the evening.
