Snippets from De Smet – Rest Day
De Smet is famous as the home town of Laura Ingalls Wilder the author of Little House on the Prairie.
De Smet is like a building site with every road in the small town dug up.
De Smet was home to a monster storm last night which we witnessed from the safety and comfort of our lodgings.
The path of destruction was evident this morning. Power cables outside our rental flat were being repaired at 8am and workers had already started to remove two trees, one which had fallen onto the roof of a nearby house and the other blocking the street.
Otherwise all quiet and a chance to catch up, service bikes, restore calorie deficit and rest!
