Happy Birthday Paul!

Happy birthday to me!

As team statistician, I calculated, during some of those many hours turning the pedals, there was almost a 70% chance of at least one of us having a birthday while we were on this journey. What an incredible way to spend any birthday let alone a 62nd! As a guess I would estimate the average age of the riders we have met is more like 26….

We are into our 8th week now and each day continues to throw up new surprises and experiences for us, the scenery, the wildlife, the people, the weather, the roads, the food, the accommodation: no 2 days are ever the same. Its a cliche but the best present is having the time and means to be able to undertake this challenge with such great company! Had I tried it then I may have found the cycling easier at 26 but I know I’m appreciating the journey much more at 62. Thank you for all your support and interest, it means a lot to us.
