The plan:
- Early start
- Lots of kilometres (90)
- Lots of hills (1,000m+)
- A brief coffee stop
- Fast(ish)!
- Back by 2pm
The Weather Forecast:
- 7-10 degrees (‘Toastie”)!
- A ‘fresh breeze’
The Reality:
- Early start
- Lots of kilometres (76) – many of them slow due to head on wind
- Lots of hills – 1,166m of them with segments of up to 20%
- For ‘fresh breeze’ – read ‘overpowering gusts’, head on slowing us down, side on knocking us over, unpleasant at best, dangerous at worst
- Fast(ish) – No chance, thwarted by the wind
- Home by 2pm, another training ride completed
Keep up the blogs Alison, we like to keep up to date with your amazing journey.

Cycling against a strong gusty wind must be so hard and dangerous Alison, l am trying not to fuss, but please be careful 😘 xx

Sorry for such a belated reply. Thank you for your concern. 😘 I am being very careful. I would like to cycle up to see you when the weather’s a little better. What used to seem a long way, seems easily manageable by bike these days. Lots of love 😘😘 xx
