Day 9

25th June 2023

Villefranche-sur-Saône to Chanas

Distance: 67 miles / 108km

Total Distance Cycled: 681 miles / 1,097km

Another early start to get a few miles done before the temperature reached well above 30 degrees in the afternoon.

The roads were quiet as we left Villefranche-sur-Saône and headed towards Chanas. A wonderful short break at on of Lyon’s most popular baeriesTaking long stretches along the ViaRhona, alongside the Rhone. Navigating through Lyon was easier than it might have been due to the lighter Sunday traffic but it was still a very long day with much of the group arriving at our hotel just after 6pm. We should get used to this as we have our longest day still to come – tomorrow.

We passed the halfway mileage of our journey from Brighton today, with ‘only’ 800km to go!

I could write so much more but again, sleep prevails.

  1. Dear Alison
Life is sometimes very complicated for us Parkinson’s sufferers. But it also brings us great moments and encounters that mark our lives.
Once again, a thousand thanks for the work you do.

My thoughts are with you all the way through this sporting challenge ……………. I wish you all the courage you need.
