Chanas to Montelimar
Distance: 75 miles / 121km
Today was a day of fantastic riverside greenway cycle tracks, an amazing tail wind, the possibility of a swim stop and a VERY hot, sunny day.
Some set off early to try to beat the heat and arrive at our destination of Montelimar in record time. Those of us happy to start later enjoyed a good hotel breakfast, a few fiddly junctions and then long stretches of beautiful, riverside designated cycle ways. At around mile 25 we were looking for a suitable stop and happened upon a great boulangerie hiding behind a health centre. Just what we needed. Heading on, being blown along by the tail wind, accompanied by DJ Declan’s great playlist we soon made it to a suitable lunch stop and met the van for water and a few supplies. Just after, crossing a bridge there are kids swimming n the river and soon we see a small beach where ‘van’ Paul spots a swimming opportunity for us. We are quick to join him. The last few kilometres include wire pedestrians bridges which provide unique cycling challenges, more amazing cycle paths and a busy run-in to our destination; the town of Montelimar.

That bridge! 😳
