Itinerary

We could cycle across America in less than 2,000 miles but when we looked at the options (of which there are many) we very quickly realised that this wasn’t about rushing, not about being fastest and not about the destination. It is absolutely about the journey, the sights we see, the challenges we face and most importantly the people we meet and those who will join us for part of the ride.

Caroline, Paul, John and I will cycle the vast majority of the route together. We have chosen different end points to facilitate visiting family and friends. We have friends meeting us in Portland (thank you Kathy & Dave) to cycle with and to support us..Denise and Jim will cycle with us and support us from Lewiston to Lolo. Marianne, Steve, Julia and Paula will join us from Lolo to Cody. They will cycle with us for ten days. The original ‘Cyclopaths’, the eight of us first cycled together through Vietnam and Cambodia in 2018 and have shared many cycling adventures since.

Around the north shore of Lake Erie we will meet with Steve Iseman and share some time cycling with him and hopefully with his wife, Lori, too. There are others who we hope to catch up with along the way and if you are reading this and happen to be in any of the same areas as us around the same time, please get in touch. We would love to ride with you.

Our route includes many places we have wanted to but have not yet visited and in total, we will cycle over 4,500 miles each, a summary of which are detailed below.

  1. Wow what an adventure. Travelling through so many amazing places. Trip of a lifetime. I can’t imagine cycling such a long distance but I would always back the cyclopaths to achieve it. Good luck and enjoy.

  2. How I wish I could join you to share just a fraction of your epic journey! Enjoy every moment x
