The Weather

I had done well to whittle down my list of things to worry about, the hills, the bears and the long days on the saddle were all put into perspective with the kind words and imparted wisdom of others.

I was feeling reassuringly calm and even allowed a modicum of excitement to surface…….

And then while sitting in the airport looking out on the runway bathed in glorious sunshine, I made the mistake of looking at the weather forecast for Portland, Oregon.

Overly optimistic or blissfully ignorant, I had imagined our days warm, dry with just enough sunshine to warm my soul. I hadn’t actually considered it might be anything different but now that I’ve seen it, I can’t unsee it.

And don’t get me started on the prairie dogs……
