Better Together

“Individually we are one drop, together we are an ocean.” Ryunosuke Satoro

Arriving back home late last night, I have found myself, like many of the group, unpacking, doing the laundry and restocking the fridge today. None of these things have felt like chores as I have also spent the day reflecting on an amazing experience with a wonderful and inspiring group of people.

It don’t believe it is possible to have visited Norway and not to have fallen in love with its beauty and its people. Our Norwegian friends have excelled in organising an adventure for us all that will forever be with us. We saw Norway at its very best and it brought the best out in each of us.

We cycled many hours of the day, every day but we also walked, talked and relaxed together. We talked like old friends, many of us bound together by the challenges that we each face as a result of having Parkinson’s or living with someone living with Parkinson’s.

Sharing our stories, learning from each other, laughing and occasionally crying together. This shared experience bonds us together. Friendships that we know will last regardless of the geographical distances between us. Inspiring and motivating each other. We know that we face Parkinson’s not in isolation but as part of a community and that we are stronger and better together. It has been an absolute privilege to share this adventure with each and every one of these amazing people.
